PEACE & ORDER REIGNING IN MACAO

False Propaganda Spread By U.S.

Canton, Sept. 8 (Domei) - It is reported from Macao that contrary to the false propaganda spread by the United States and Britain, peace and order are reigning in Macao and that there is not the least indication of any sort of unrest, with the only effects of the current war on Macao being the increase in population as well as some advance in commodity prices, Portuguese sources revealed today.They pointed out that, for instance, the Central Hotel is accommodating many guests daily. It is generally believed that the fabricated news of disturbances in Macao, by the United States and Britain, was in order to recruit Chinese and Indians in Macao for replenishing the diminishing number of workers for the United States air force in Chungking.

Cantão, 8 de Set. (Domei) - É reportado de Macau que, contrariamente à falsa propaganda espalhada pelos Estados Unidos e pela Grã-Bretanha, a paz e a ordem reinam em Macau e que não existe o menor indício de qualquer tipo de agitação, sendo os únicos efeitos da guerra atual em Macau o aumento da população, bem como um certo avanço nos preços das mercadorias, revelaram hoje fontes portuguesas.

Salientaram que, por exemplo, o Hotel Central está a alojar muitos hóspedes diariamente. Acredita-se em geral que as notícias fabricadas de distúrbios em Macau, pelos Estados Unidos e pela Grã-Bretanha, tinham como objetivo recrutar Chineses e Indianos em Macau para reabastecer o número decrescente de trabalhadores para a força aérea dos Estados Unidos em Chungking.
