A ligação de helicóptero entre Macau e Hong Kong chegou a ser equacionada pela STDM mas não avançou nesta época, só muitas décadas mais tarde. O artigo refere ainda a particularidade do turista poder ver e ouvir fado no hotel Lisboa. Quanto à restante oferta hoteleira do tipo ocidental surgem os nomes da Pousada Macau e dos hotéis Estoril e Bela Vista. Em 1972 o hotel Riviera fechara portas recentemente e o hotel Sintra ainda estava em construção. Havia ainda o Matsuya e o Caravela, este último por pouco tempo.
