Canton: Messrs Deacon and Co's Market Report says: - Congous: During the past fortnight some further transactions in New Teas have taken place, and market settlements and private contracts are estimated at 2,700 boxes. Prices have ranged from Tls 23 to 30 and at these rates there seems to be a fair demand for Teas Shipments from this port and Macao amount to about 6,500 boxes. Later arrivals bear out the opinion expressed in our last report regarding the quality of the crop; the Teas are decidedly preferable in appearance and out turn than those of the previous season but in liquor they are generally deficient in strength and flavour; at the present range of prices the Teas may be considered fully one tael dearer than settlements at the commencement of last season. Shipments to date are: March 21, ss Amazone 7,770 lbs; March 23, ss Ajax 4,494 lbs; March 28, ss Khiva 12,542 lbs"
