Guia Light House

"Light House
The elevation of the Guia Fort was availed of in 1865 by the energetic Governor Amaral to construct the first lighthouse ever erected in the China Seas. A tower rising within the walls of the fort carries the light to an elevation of 333 feet above high water mark. The light is white revolving and visible in clear weather at a distance of twenty miles Its revolution is complete in 64 seconds. The light was first shown on the 24th September 1865."

"Fort Guia Light 
A revolving white light has been established at fort Guia at an elevation of 332 feet and in clear weather should be seen 20 miles Its revolution is complete in one minute. Within a distance of 12 miles a faint light is visible. A green light is shown from a buoy on NE end of Macao Fort rock. A red light from buoy on SW edge of Haeshin rock. The light tower is octagonal 45 feet high from base to vane and is painted white."
