Robert Morrison (1782-1834) was the first Protestant missionary in China. Arriving in Macao in 1807 he translated the Bible into Chinese and produced the first Chinese Dictionary. He died in Guangzhou (Canton) in 1834 and was buried in the Old Protestant Cemetery in Macao.
