The Praya on the Inner Harbour

Os primeiros riquexós de Macau remontam a 1885. Neste postal ilustrado de ca. de 1900 pode ver-se uma estação de riquexós em frente do Largo da Caldeira. O postal intitula-se "Rickshaw on the Praya" (em inglês porque os postais foram publicados em Hong Kong), nome pelo qual era conhecida aquela zona do Porto Interior até ao século 19, a Praia Pequena sendo do outro lado da península a Praia Grande. 

Outro postal da mesma época e do mesmo local (esquerda) intitulado "Praya"

"The Praya on the Inner Harbour presents a great contrast to the other Praya for whereas quiet reigns on the seaward one, the inland one is all bustle; rows of Chinese vessels are anchored off the shore and boats and sampans line the banks on which coolies are busy loading or unloading cargo to carry into the stores, shops, and wholesale Chinese merchants’ places of business on this Menduia Praya or into the back streets."
