"Travel trade handbook"

A primeira imagem mostra a capa e a contracapa do "Travel trade handbook MACAU", um guia turístico (ca. 70 páginas e formato A4) editado em inglês pelo Departamento de Turismo e Informação de Macau em 1981. 

A ilustração reproduzida na capa é uma gravura clássica do século XIX intitulada "The Pria Grande, Macao" (1843), desenhada por Thomas Allom a partir de um esboço do tenente Frederick D. White e gravada por W. H. Capone, retratando a Baía da Praia Grande e a Colina da Penha.

Profusamente ilustrado é acompanhado de textos sucintos e um mapa.

"The best time to visit Macau throughout the year is mid-week, to avoid the weekend gambling rush from Hong Kong. During daytime hydrofoils and jetfoils depart at roughly half hour intervals from both Macau and Hong Kong. Daily services start from 7.45 am and finish at up to 6.30 pm in summer (5.15 pm in winter) Night jetfoil services to and from Macau were introduced for the convenience of the travellers and have proved popular. Jetfoils take about 50 minutes for the 40-mile trip; hydrofoils, 65 to 75 minutes." 

"For walkers who dont´t mind some step climbs this tour offers spectacular views from the old Jesuit fort on Monte hill overlooking the site of a college for missionaires and scholars going to China. St. Paul´s was the collegiate church, built 1602 with the help of Japanese Christian exiles and, except for the great façade, destroyed by fire in 1835".
