Com recurso aos acervos de museus de Macau, Hong Kong e Guangdong o Museu de Arte de Macau (MAM) exibe de 10 de Maio a 15 de Setembro do corrente ano cerca de 300 obras de arte de representações das cidades costeiras do Sul da China produzidas durante os séculos 18 e 19 por artistas chineses e estrangeiros.
Intitulada "Focus: Integration of Art between China and the West in the 18th-19th Centuries", a mostra pretende assinalar o 250º aniversário do nascimento do pintor inglês George Chinnery, cuja vida e actividade está intimamente ligada a Macau, local onde viveu entre 1825 e 1852, ano em que morreu.
Segundo a organização do evento algumas das obras de arte - óleos, aguarelas, desenhos, guaches, etc... - são exibidas pela primeira vez em Macau.

Some 300 pieces from the collections of the Guangdong Museum, Hong Kong Museum of Art and museums in Macao are going on display at Macao Museum of Art (MAM) from 10 May until 15 September.
Entitled "Focus: Integration of Art between China and the West in the 18th-19th Centuries", the show happens on the 250th anniversary of George Chinnery’s birth, and features a large number of works by the artist, closely connected to Macao where he lived from 1825 to 1852, when he died. According to the organization some works of art - oil paintings, watercolours, gouache, sketches, etc. - are being displayed in Macau for the first time.
